Harry: "What's up with her?"
Hermione: "Overindulged over Christmas, apparently. She and her friend Violet drank their way through all the wine in that picture of the drunk monks down by the Charms corridor."
Harry Potter asks Hermione Granger about the Fat Lady's state of health.[src]

This picture of drunk monks hung on the Charms Corridor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was painted sometime in around the fifteenth century. During the Christmas holidays in 1996, the Fat Lady and her friend, Violet, celebrated by consuming all the wine in the monks' picture. After this overindulgence, the Fat Lady did not feel well, and made the password to Gryffindor Tower "abstinence".[1]
